Dr. Sam Rafia is a highly experienced ER & critical care veterinarian with nearly two decades of clinical experience. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tehran in 2005, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Science and residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine. After relocating to the US, he completed a small animal internship at Ethos Veterinary Health paving the way for his career in emergency medicine. At CASE, he leads the ER & ICU, overseeing complex critical cases and mentoring the hospital’s ER team. His professional interests include diagnostic ultrasound, trauma stabilization, CPR, and metabolic and endocrine cases. Outside of work, Dr. Rafia enjoys traveling, and spending time outdoors with his wife—also a veterinarian—and their two young children in Irvine.
