Dr. Olivia Shoup

Dr. Olivia Shoup focuses on small animal neurology and neurosurgery at CASE Animal Hospital, with a particular interest in advanced neurosurgical care.

Education & Advanced Training

Dr. Shoup earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology & Biology and Master of Science in Veterinary Biomedical Science from Colorado State University.

Her interest in the nervous system led her to pursue advanced training in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery.

She completed:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Oklahoma State University

Three-Year Residency in Veterinary Neurology & Neurosurgery, Veterinary Neurological Center in Phoenix

Clinical Interests

During her residency, Dr. Shoup gained extensive surgical experience, including a high volume of stabilization and malformation cases.

This experience developed her particular interest in advanced and unusual neurosurgical cases.

She is also interested in both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, particularly when managing chronic pain in pets.

When developing care plans, she considers both traditional medical practices and holistic approaches.

Personal Interests

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Shoup enjoys dance, aerial exercise, puzzles, and spending time with her rescued pets: Major, a Shepherd mix; Maisie, an Australian mix; and Orion, her cat.
