Dr. Sam Rafia is an experienced emergency and critical care veterinarian with nearly two decades of clinical experience.
Education & Training
Dr. Rafia earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Tehran in 2005.
He later completed a Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc) and residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine.
After relocating to the United States, he completed a small animal internship at Ethos Veterinary Health before pursuing a career in emergency medicine.
Emergency & Critical Care Leadership
At CASE Animal Hospital, Dr. Rafia leads the ER and ICU, overseeing complex critical cases and mentoring members of the hospital’s emergency team.

Dr. Rafia’s professional interests include:

Personal Interests
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Rafia enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife, who is also a veterinarian, and their two young children in Irvine.
