Dr. Todd Trostel

Dr. Todd Trostel has practiced as a veterinary surgeon in Southern California since 2003. His clinical interests include orthopedic and soft tissue procedures.

Education & Surgical Training

Dr. Trostel earned his undergraduate degrees and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Texas A&M University.

His advanced training includes:

– Rotating Internship, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

– Surgical Internships in Florida and California

– Surgical Residency, Mississippi State University

– Master’s Degree in Veterinary Biomedical Science, University of Missouri–Columbia

Experience & Academic Contributions

Throughout his career, Dr. Trostel has practiced at specialty veterinary hospitals across San Diego, Riverside, Orange, and San Bernardino counties.

He has published nearly 20 peer-reviewed papers and has served as a mentor and advisor to third- and fourth-year veterinary students over the last 10 years.

Dr. Trostel’s clinical interests include a broad range of orthopedic and soft tissue procedures, with particular interests in:

– Complex Fractures

– Wound Management

Personal Interests

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Trostel enjoys fishing, golfing, road cycling, and other outdoor activities.

He also shares his home with two cats, Sriracha Bob, a gray tabby, and Gomez, a tuxedo cat, who, as he jokes, are not very helpful with paying the mortgage.
